You see, there's the Gerlachians, the folks who have lived in Gerlach for generations and are entrenched in the area, and now you got your Gerlachoise (pronounced Ger - lock - WAH, or, Ger - lock - wah - ZEE). These are the folks from the outside who have infiltrated the steady calm that existed here before for decades. The ones who don't quite speak the local language. The rabble-rousers who want to change everything and make it look like California.

I think the only way for a Gerlachoise to become a Gerlachian is through marriage, although I suspect bribes are another avenue.
