Are fireworks legal/sold in Gerlach?
I'm going to be spending time on the playa this coming weekend and would like to make noise/blow things up.
They don't legally sell fireworks around home so I may not get a chance to buy any until I get to the area.

I often see illegal fireworks on the playa.

Thu, June 29, 2006 - 10:46 AMNot only are fireworks illegal, BLM law enforcement will be out to issue citations. There were some folks last year (Dragon?) who got the necessary permits to have big fireworks, but I know that a few people got ticketed who had illegal fireworks. There are two BLM Rangers in the NCA-- Randy and Caury-- they get pretty bored I imagine, so the opportunity to enforce a law must hold some level of excitement for them. They are both reasonably nice people, but they are law enforcement, so polite only goes so far. -
